Janjwar, Kashmir. In a tragic incident, two teenage cousin sisters from Srinagar drowned to death in Ferozepur Nallah in Drang Tangmarg area of North Kashmir's Baramulla district, while two others accompanying them are being treated at SMHS hospital in Srinagar.

Police officials told janjwar drowning of four people in FerozePur Nallah was received, immediately a police team from Tangmarg Police Station went to the spot and launched the rescue operation and all four were rescued in critical condition and immediately shifted to Srinagar Hospital for the treatment.

Meanwhile the locals and the family members of the deceased said that the Drung Power Project officials raised the water level without any announcement which resulted in the death of these two young girls.

"There was no announcement or any warning issued by them", they alleged.

A local from the area who was also involved in the rescue said, whenever the power project officials have to open the gates they make prior announcements, but today they did not made any announcement and opened the gates by which water level increased, which ultimately resulted in the death of two young girls in FerozePur Nallah.

Meanwhile Asian News Hub tried to seek the response from the Police on the allegations made by the family and locals against the Drung Power Project Officials, on which a Top Police official said, they will look into these allegations and will get back.

The Drung Micro Hydel Power Project was inaugurated by then Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, on 04 July 2013, and the project was set up under IPP mode, with an investment of Rs 90 crore, and had an installed capacity of 3×3.33 MW.

The Micro Hydel Power Project was meant to provide electricity to the local areas of Tangmarg and Gulmarg
